These Terms apply if you start Ridge with a free trial. They are part of the Merchant Agreement and are accepted when you choose your plan. Capitalized terms have the meanings in the Merchant Agreement.
1. What the trial is
1.1 Length. The free trial lasts 14 days, starting the day you choose a Plan during setup (the "Trial Period").
1.2 What's included. Every feature of the Plan you chose, with no subscription fee during the Trial Period. Card acceptance works as soon as your payments setup with Stripe is complete.
1.3 Card pricing applies. The Card Pricing Program operates during the trial exactly as it does afterward: your customers see card prices, cash customers receive the Cash Discount, you receive the Cash Price on every sale, and Ridge keeps the Program Amount on card sales. You pay no processing fees during or after the trial.
1.4 Add-ons. You may turn on add-ons during the trial. They are charged from the day the Trial Period ends, pro rata, as described in the Subscription Billing & Cancellation Policy.
2. Who can use it
2.1 One free trial per business. A business that has had a Ridge account before, under the same EIN, owners or location, is not eligible for another trial.
2.2 The trial is available where Ridge is offered (at the Effective Date, Ohio) and is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy and Stripe's acceptance of your business.
3. Payment method and what happens when the trial ends
3.1 Payment method required. You provide a card or bank account when you choose your Plan, under the Billing Authorization. It is not charged during the Trial Period.
3.2 Automatic start of your paid Plan. When the Trial Period ends, your Plan begins and Ridge charges your payment method the Plan price shown when you signed up, plus any add-ons and applicable tax. That day becomes your billing date under the Subscription Billing & Cancellation Policy, and you are charged on that day each month after.
3.3 Reminders. Ridge emails you 7 days and 1 day before the Trial Period ends, stating the Plan, the amount, the date you will be charged, and how to cancel.
3.4 Changing your Plan during the trial. You may change Plans at any time during the trial from Settings › Plan; the change takes effect when the Trial Period ends.
4. Cancelling during the trial
4.1 You may cancel at any time during the Trial Period from Settings › Plan › Cancel plan, or by emailing support@ridgeapp.app. It takes under a minute and needs no phone call.
4.2 If you cancel before the Trial Period ends, you are not charged. Your account closes at the end of the Trial Period, and your data remains available for export for 90 days.
4.3 Payouts for sales you made during the trial continue on the normal schedule, and you remain responsible for refunds, chargebacks and disputes on those sales under the Payment Services Addendum.
5. Ending a trial early
Ridge may end a trial before the Trial Period ends, without charge to you, if the business is not eligible under Section 2, violates the Acceptable Use Policy, or presents fraud or legal risk, or if Stripe declines or closes the connected account.
6. After the trial
Once your paid Plan begins, the Subscription Billing & Cancellation Policy governs billing, plan changes, cancellation and prorated refunds. Nothing in these Terms limits that Policy after the trial.
7. Changes
Ridge may change these Terms for new trials at any time by posting an updated version. Changes do not affect a trial already in progress.
