This Policy explains how Ridge bills your subscription, how you change or cancel it, and how refunds work. It is part of the Merchant Agreement and is accepted when you choose your plan. Capitalized terms have the meanings in the Merchant Agreement.
1. How billing works
1.1 Billing date. Your billing date is the day of the month you chose your plan or, if you started with a free trial, the day your trial ended (see the Free Trial Terms). On that date each month, Ridge charges your payment method for the coming month's Plan fee, any add-ons, and applicable taxes. If a month has no such day, you are billed on its last day.
1.2 Add-ons. Add-ons turned on or off during a month are charged or credited pro rata for the days they were on, on your next invoice.
1.3 Usage. Marketing texts beyond your Plan's included amount are billed on your next invoice at the add-on rate. Instant payout fees are deducted from the payout and are not billed.
1.4 Taxes. Sales tax is added where required.
1.5 Invoices. Ridge emails an invoice for each charge and keeps your billing history in Settings › Plan.
2. Payment methods and failed payments
2.1 You may pay by card or bank account (ACH) under the Billing Authorization in Authorizations & Consents. Update your payment method at any time in Settings › Plan.
2.2 If a payment fails, Ridge retries up to three times over seven days and emails you after each attempt. If the fee is unpaid 10 days after the billing date, the Service is suspended until it is paid: you can sign in to update your payment method and export your data, but cannot take payments. If it remains unpaid 30 days after the billing date, your account is terminated under Section 12.3 of the Merchant Agreement.
3. Changing your plan
3.1 Automatic sizing. Under Section 4.2 of the Merchant Agreement, Ridge reviews your average monthly sales over the trailing three months. If they have moved into another Plan's range for three consecutive months, Ridge emails you at least 30 days before your Plan changes. There are no overage charges.
3.2 Your own changes. You may move up or down a Plan at any time from Settings › Plan. The change takes effect on your next billing date. There are no mid-month Plan changes and no proration of Plan fees.
3.3 Add-ons may be turned on or off at any time and are prorated under Section 1.2.
4. Cancelling
4.1 How. Cancel from Settings › Plan › Cancel plan. It takes under a minute, needs no phone call, and has no cancellation fee. You may also email support@ridgeapp.app and Ridge will cancel within one business day.
4.2 Two options.
- Cancel now. Your subscription ends immediately and Ridge refunds the unused portion of the current month under Section 5.
- Cancel at the end of the month. You keep full access until your next billing date, are not charged again, and receive no refund. You can undo this at any time before then.
4.3 What ends. On cancellation, card acceptance and all Service features stop, except sign-in for data export, invoices and your signed documents, which stay available for 90 days.
4.4 What continues. Payouts for sales already made continue on the normal schedule. You remain responsible for refunds, chargebacks and disputes on those sales and for any amounts owed to Ridge, and the Owner Guaranty survives. Stripe may hold funds under Section 10 of the Payment Services Addendum.
4.5 Coming back. Reactivate within 90 days from Settings and your catalog, customers and history are restored; you will be asked to accept any documents that changed. After 90 days your data is deleted under Section 12.4 of the Merchant Agreement and reactivation starts a new account.
5. Prorated refunds
5.1 What is refunded. When you cancel now, Ridge refunds the Plan fee and any add-on fees you prepaid for the current month, in proportion to the whole days remaining after the day you cancel, plus the tax on that amount.
5.2 Formula. Refund = (Plan fee + prepaid add-on fees for the month) × (whole days remaining ÷ days in the billing month) + tax on that amount, rounded to the cent. Example: Growth ($99) billed for a 30-day month; you cancel on day 10; 20 whole days remain; refund = $99 × 20 ÷ 30 = $66.00, plus tax.
5.3 What is not refunded. Usage charges for texts already sent, fees for past months, and the day of cancellation.
5.4 Amounts you owe. If you owe Ridge anything — unpaid invoices, chargebacks or a negative balance not recovered from your connected account — Ridge deducts it from the refund first and refunds the remainder. If the amount you owe is larger than the refund, nothing is refunded and the difference remains due.
5.5 How and when. Refunds go to the payment method charged for the current month, within 5 business days for cards and 10 business days for bank accounts, measured from the day you cancel. The refund appears on your statement under Ridge POS.
5.6 If Ridge ends your subscription. If Ridge terminates for convenience under Section 12.3 of the Merchant Agreement, Ridge refunds the unused portion of the current month the same way. If Ridge terminates for breach, non-payment or a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy, no refund is due.
6. Changes to this Policy
Ridge may change this Policy with at least 30 days' notice by email or in the Service. A change does not reduce a refund you are owed for a month already paid.
